The Print Center 100: Mural + Publication
In 2015 The Print Center of Philadelphia marked its 100th Anniversary with a four month long, city-wide centennial celebration titled “The Print Center 100.” The celebration was marked by 100 public events, including exhibitions, lectures, new commissions, publications, and a closing gala street party.
I was chosen to be one of six artists for New Commissions within the 100 events. For my commission, The Print Center partnered with Elixr Coffee, a center city business with a curated mural progam. After weeks of planning, and with the help of two student assistants, Grace Snyder and William ‘Kees’ Holterman, I painted the mural pictured here. It was installed for seven months.
In addition to the mural, I produced a poster/zine, titled “A Visual Index for City Walkers,” also commissioned by The Print Center, and offset printed in an edition of 800 at the Borowsky Center for Publication Arts at The University of the Arts.
